First e-learning site May 11, 2000.
Vidyalay.com is an associate of 24x7learning.com. Vidyalay.com was launched on May 5, 2000 as the first e-Learning site for working professionals in India. Some Press Clippings are attached below .........................Deccan Chronicle. Hyderabad. India .May27,2000 The excitement was virtually palpable last weekend. 142,516 Internet surfers hit in from Asia, USA, UK, South America, Australia and several other parts of the world, pursuing the first-ever e-treasure hunt conducted by an Indian company to mark its entry as a pioneer on the webscape of e-learning. The site - Vidyalay.com - was launched almost entirely on the Internet, through a unique hunt for clues, which took browsers across the depth and span of the site in search for answers to trivia relevant to topics that can now be learnt on line at the site. Vidyalay.com has built the platform for users to log in and pickup new skills by choosing from over 1000 free courses in Computing and Internet, Business and Management, Self Development and Hobbies, Sports and Fitness and many more. The concept in its totality demonstrates a knowledge facility that enables anytime, anyplace learning at one's own pace. Through tie-ups with institutes and universities in future, certification programs and tests will soon be conducted at a charge by Vidyalay.com - to help users obtain recognition for the highly specific learning inputs they would take from the site.
